Here is the basic schedule we discussed at our meeting. I did not include PAW classes here, although we would likely want PAW at least on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I think we could get close to 60 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Would like to hear your comments.

I like the idea of this schedule, assuming there is a way to accommodate elective classes and teachers. I also feel Valarie's idea of a few added minutes to the end of period 6 would be beneficial; the days we have PAW, that would not be necessary. Carry that one step further, and if we follow the schedule of this year's gift of time, we would only need to add extra time to Tuesday's period 6 - Wednesday and Thursday would have a PAW class, allowing lifeguards to collect students in the same way as this year.
ReplyDeleteI know we even discussed the possible difficulty with electives, but wouldn't a straight six period day (no double blocked anything) eliminate that problem? We could even consider having the long days on Tuesdays and Thursdays (just to break it up a bit).
